Blessing of the Fleet & Memorial Service and Boat Parade
More than 90 Newburgh Yacht Club Members and Guests were on hand for the annual Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony. It was held on the beautiful Sunday morning June 8, 2014. (See the slide show of photos below)
The Reverend, Deacon Peter Haight, from St. Andrews Church in Newburgh performed the blessing ceremony and then led a memorial service for club and family members who passed away during the last year. As part of the remembrance a bell was tolled and a flower was placed in the Hudson for each of those honored.
A boat parade followed with participating boats being blessed by the Deacon.
Following the ceremonies and parade chilled juice and mimosas were served on our patio followed by brunch at Pamela’s on the Hudson.

We have a slide show of the days activities for you. Thanks to photographers, Edward “Moon” Mullins and Jennifer Brenner, for letting us use their pictures. You can click on any picture for an enlarged view.
