Newburgh Yacht Club’s “B/C” Dock now reaches out 300 feet…
Our members got a workout on one of the latest projects at the club, installing 100 feet of new floating dock to our “B/C” dock.
The approximately 10 foot long sections of docking, which look similar to toy Legos but are a lot harder to put together than their toy look alikes, especially when joining pieces already floating on the water.
Bill Chesser, Club Work Program Chairman, says our members did a great job putting the new docks together and moving them into position. He said the new docks are the same kind as were installed last year. He was pleased with the way they made it through the harsh winter.
It’s hoped that the additional dockage space will enable the club to attract more members.
Chesser noted most of our boating members as part of their dues contribute hours of work to the club to help it offset operating costs. He notes that each Saturday members can come by to take part in work projects.
He reminds members that they need to have half of their work hours completed by June 15, 2015 or they can be billed for the uncompleted hours. Members can contact Bill for any questions on the work program and its requirements.
