Our Chef Emeritus for Dock Parties, Pig Roasts, Lobster Fests, and more at the Newburgh Yacht Club.
Moon as he was known made us hundreds of meals here at the club during his almost 30-year membership. Whether it was just a simple lunch during a work program or a dinner at a dock party he always put his heart into it. He enjoyed planning, shopping for the meals, always having more than enough.
He understood the importance of getting the members out and enjoying time being together. He also made sure our dock parties were special with good food at an affordable price.
He used his culinary skills help the club with fund raising. He had a long list of credits to his name from 4th of July Party Pig Roasts, to August Lobster Fests. The Lobster Fests often had 200 or more attendees.
We’re going to miss Moon’s presence here. No more having him stirring that big soup kettle on the stove.

Moon shared his joy of cooking by feeding us at work days and countless parties over the years. He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Sorry to have been away and not been able to attend his services. I’ll be shucking some clams tonight in his honor! RIP Moon.
