Let’s try something different this year, said Commodore John Disciglio.
He added that he and his wife Carolyn wanted to try something less formal than the sit-down dinner dancing events we’ve been having the last few years.
They choose to have a Hawaiian Luau right here on our Yacht Club grounds. Members got to wear their favorite Hawaiian Shirts and outfits and enjoy some great catering from the Oyster and Clam Bar at the Brunswick Inn.
Menu items included raw bar, grilled flank steak, teriyaki salmon, appetizers, dessert and more.
The music was by Premier Entertainment.
The club was just going to rent a tent for this event, but the tent provider made an attractive offer, and the club purchased the tent. It is available for rentals for up to fifty people to our members for $250.00, plus a security deposit.
The Commodore said having the tent up on our grounds hopefully could lead to more social events this summer. Groups of our members might get together to put on some events like a chicken, steak, or rib barbecue or pool party. It would feature a meal prepared by the members and include some liquid refreshments such as beer, wine, soda & water, all are a great low price. This could bring out the members and their families and make memorable and valuable experiences for all. If you have an interest, please let the Commodore know and leave a comment below.
