Newburgh Yacht Club Commodore John Disciglio, always says it is the members that make this club. Their efforts make the clubhouse, grounds, and facilities special and a wonderful place to be.
So, I thought I would feature some photos taken of our members while they were working hard doing just that during our Spring Clean Up Day this June, held the day before the Blessing of the Fleet.
Twice a year we have all-hands on deck, mandatory workdays for all our boating members to take care of the clubhouse, grounds, and marina.
The next one is the Fall Clean Up Workday, set for Saturday October 26, 2024, starting at 8:00 a.m.
By then all the members’ boats should be hauled in, be blocked up on land and being covered.
Big jobs on the Fall Workday will include bringing in the gas dock and securing all the boating docks and swimming pool. The members will work hard and then get to relax and enjoy lunch together before going home or off to work on their boats.
All of this effort will help protect the marina and club grounds during the winter and make it easier to get ready forthe boating season in the spring.
