This post is from Jim Distefano, Member of the Board of Directors
Dear Members,
There is now a new keypad lock and panic bar device on the main clubhouse entry door.
THE COMBINATION–The combination / code is the same as the last keypad device with the exception that the # sign has to be entered at the end of the code.
So that means the code is 1, 3,5,7,9,#. Please keep this code confidential.
We may change the code in the future. If we do will will let you know via our member’s only website.
USING A KEY TO OPEN THE LOCK—-The same key as before still works. Insert the key and turn it all the way to the left, just the key not the lever handle. This will then retract the panic bar latch on the inside, just pull the door open and then remove the key.
HOW TO SET TO AN UNLOCKED MODE–There is also an Allen wrench dogging key, just like the side door, to hold the device in the depressed or dogged state so the door will not latch. This is useful when we are using the door at an event or often so we can get in without using the keypad.
The dogging key is in a slot near the red LED alarm light on the door jamb. Make sure the the bar is un-dogged again to return the door to the locking function again when leaving and re-securing the building.
ALARM— Remember that the alarm still has to be deactivated when entering the building if it is on when you arrive.
Enjoy, Jim Distefano
