Our Work Program Gets The Job Done
Check the video to see how hard our members work for the club.
With nicer weather moving in slowly but surely, sunshine and warmer temperatures are focusing all eyes are on the new pool at the Newburgh Yacht Club. Everyone wants to know; How’s the new pool coming? When’s it going to be open?
Thanks to members putting in work hours on the pool construction we’ll be in the swim for summer.
This post features a video of members on a recent Saturday installing a decorative block retaining wall at the south end of the new pool. Each block they installed weighed 85 pounds. By the end of the day they said each one felt heavier.
You can see in the video just how hard a job it is to build a beautiful wall. We’re lucky to have members with the know how and skills to do the job.
Those you see in the video are just a few of the many members who have put in countless hours making the pool a reality and once again a valuable asset to our club.
Even before Hurricane Sandy destroyed our original 40 year old pool in 2012 the club had begun fundraising for a new one. Seven successful annual golf outing fund raisers were held creating a fund that provided the bulk of the money to rebuild the pool.
We’ll be having updates right here on our Newburgh Yacht Club website on the new pool. Included will be: When to stop by for the grand opening; operating hours, and of course safety and operational procedures.
