Update: The CPR Class Schedule for June 3rd has been changed, the afternoon class will not be given.
It did not have enough attendees. Instructor Dan Maughan reports the morning class has 5 people ready for the training. Dan says following this class a total of 24 people will be certified in CPR as a result of the training classes at the Newburgh Yacht Club.
Summer and swimming at our club pool will be here before you know it. We’re preparing now by getting our members CPR Certified. Health department rules require that we have a Certified CPR Person on location whenever our pool is open. If you’d like to help us out with that requirement the club will pay for your CPR Certification. First thing to do, sign up to take one of the classes listed here and get CPR Certified. Club Members and their family members are eligible
Enjoy your class.

CPR Certification and Recertification
For those that don’t know me, my name is Dan Maughan and I’ve been a member of the Newburgh Yacht Club since last year.
I’m very excited to be teaching the CPR Certification Recertification classes here at the club. As an ER Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner for the last 25 years, I have a passion for teaching life saving techniques and doing so in a fun and hands on manner.
This CPR course will be different than the ones offered in past years. I look forward to getting to know all of you during class as well around the club.
The course schedule for CPR this year is listed below on the online signup form. FULL CERTIFICATION AND RECERTS MAY ATTEND ANY COURSE. All CPR Classes can have no more than 8 participants.
Your cost to take the CPR course at the club is Free. As a member of the Yacht Club I am pleased to say that the cost to the club for CPR Courses will dramatically decrease as I will not be charging an instructor fee. Cost to the club will be $10 per member to cover the disposables and cards. We will purchase 12 books which will be kept in the club for you to review before, during and after the class, it is important that these books remain in the club for use by all those taking CPR.

“STB” Program Information
Additionally, for those who wish, I will also be teaching a new program called “STOP the BLEED” (STB). This program teaches you what to do in case of a bleeding emergency. It has a short lecture format followed by hands-on experience. With the large and small equipment used at the club and the potential for bleeding emergencies that can occur anywhere, I strongly urge you to consider this course that will be free of charge to you. Dates and Times for this class will be coming soon. Dan Maughan
