Four New Members Of Our Club
Commodore John Disciglio greeted our 4 new members at the General Membership Meeting. Membership Chairman Bob Chesser introduced the members to the club and presented each with a club burgee.
Pictured left to right is Commodore Disciglio, and New Members Dick Thorpe, Jessica Wuerz, John Nelson, and Tony Carbonara.
The new members were given a warm welcome along with best wishes to enjoy the club and boating in the years ahead.
Thank You from Our Work Committee Chairman
At the General Membership Meeting, Work Committee Chairman Joe Pilliterri gave praise to all our members who have been putting so much time and effort into completing projects at the club.
He said many members have already completed their 20 hours of required work and just kept on finishing what was needed to get done. He said this was without regard to hours. The renovation of our clubhouse meeting room was a prime example of members going above and beyond. It produced a beautiful result he said, adding that all members should keep this in mind as it will make our club a better place.
Joe says he has job hours available for all members.
Available Jobs are posted in the clubhouse. You can contact Joe at 845-541-5347 with questions or for more information.
Proposed Changes to Bylaws
Past Commodore Greg Dombroski has been chairing a committee to update our club bylaws. He gave the first of 3 readings of the changes at this meeting. At the fourth reading the club will vote on the changes. A two-thirds majority is needed for approval.
Changes include allowing new members to pay for their work hours instead of working them. Currently new members must perform their work hours for their first two years of membership. Another change is in the rules for Life Membership. Life Members would now have to be 65-years of age and have 20 years of Boating Membership. Currently candidates can have a mix of Associate and Boating Membership Status to reach the 20-year requirement. All candidates will still have to show they have done something extraordinary for the club.

Shuffle Off to Pennsylvania
Our newly renovated club meeting room is now missing an exceptionally large longtime fixture. The club recently decided to sell its Shuffleboard Table. Club Secretary Stu Keeler says a buyer from Pennsylvania saw our item for sale ad on Facebook and agreed to pay $1,500. He came with a truck, paid, and took the table home. Speaking of Facebook. The club is looking for someone to manage its Facebook Page. If you are interested. Let Stu know.
Peggy O'Neill says
Thank you Art for the update!
