Just a note to remind people of the rules for using the pool at the Club: 1) A CPR qualified person must be present to open the pool. A copy of their CPR card must be in the pool records book which is found in the black and yellow box. Their CPR card issue date must not be older than one year. 2) When opening the pool, the Yellow records box must be brought out to the pool and left by the table area. 3) The CPR qualified person must sign in the book with their name and time that the pool was opened. The pool safety equipment should be visually inspected (2 throw rings, medical kit which is in the pool box and the long shepherd’s hook pole). The appropriate line in the book should be checked off. 4) If the CPR person wishes to leave the pool area they must put their name and phone number on the white board which is on top of the pool box. The CPR person must be within a 5-minute walk back to the pool in case there is an emergency at the pool. 5) There must be 2 people, 18 YOA+ to open the pool. Solo use of the pool is forbidden. 6) There must be one person on the deck at all times. So, if there is only 2 people there one must not enter the pool. 7) The pool can be opened after sunup and be closed at sundown. No nighttime swimming is allowed. 8) When the CPR person is going to leave the property, they need to sign out and indicate that time in the pool book. If there are other people still using the pool, another CPR qualified person must sign in the book with the present time. If there is no CPR qualified person the pool must be closed and vacated. The above rules are not rules created by The Newburgh Yacht Club. These rules are established by the Orange County Health Department, who issues us the permit to operate. They inspect the pool periodically. If we are found in violation of these rules, they have the option to revoke our permit and we will not be able to use the pool. Pool Committee |
